Use of Lapbook in Preschool Education

1 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis deals with the use of a lapbook in preschool education. The introduction of the theoretical part is dedicated to the explanation of the term lapbook and squashbook, the history of the lapbook, its use in Czech education and it aims to introduce this didactic aid. In connection with the theoretical preparation of the teacher for the creation of lapbooks, the theory of multiple intelligences and the types of learning styles are presented, which should be taken into account when planning the content of the lapbook. The positive benefits of working with the lapbooks in the areas of reading, information and mathematical preliteracy are presented. Furthermore, the three-phase E - U - R model, which will also be used in the research, is presented in theory. The practical part is devoted to the use of lapbooks in a kindergarten environment. It aims to compile the steps of teacher preparation for creating a lapbook, the creation of model lapbooks and methodical instructions for their creation. A qualitative approach to the research is applied with the use of case studies, participatory observation, unstructured and semi-structured interview and the analysis of the work with five lapbooks, which were created in the course of almost five months by five children aged 5-6 years. Use of Lapbook to Develop Reading Pre-Literacy in Preschool Children

This diploma thesis deals with the Lapbook teaching method and its use to develop reading literacy for preschool-age children. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of the text read by children and their creation of their own interactive book. The work presents an integrative project that is to stimulate children's interest in literature, understanding the story through appropriately selected activities and get acquainted with the entire process of making a Lapbook. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part characterizes in general reading literacy, reading pre-literacy and its anchoring in the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education. Furthermore, the characteristics of the period in terms of the child's development and the development of reading skills, the factors influencing reading, such as the influence of family or kindergarten, and the prerequisites for the development of reading literacy. Medieval city - project-based learning at primary school

The diploma thesis "Medieval City - project-based learning at primary school" deals with the issue of the development of knowledge of pupils through project-based learning. The theoretical section is divided into two parts. In the first one, the principles and procedure of creating the project are defined, the link between project-based learning and cross-curricular subject Environmental Education being described. The second part focuses on the history of a medieval city. It explores particular aspects of the origin and development of the city during the Middle Ages, providing a summary of the knowledge that is passed on to pupils through the project instruction. The practical part of the thesis describes the preparation and realization of the "Medieval City" project. The aims are to bring pupils to understand life in a medieval town, its construction and development, so that they can understand its construction structure and location in the landscape, looking at a contemporary city from the perspective of its historical development. At the same time, they deepen their interest in the history of the place they live in and build a relationship to the cultural and historical heritage.
